Whenever she looked up at the clouds, she could see the world as a whole. In an instant, everything was laid bare to her. The scale of the world and her part in it was clear to see. She knew, then, how insignificant and irrelevant she was. It wasn’t a bad feeling necessarily, it was more like a mere matter of fact. She felt no better or worse at knowing what she did – at seeing the world the way she did. She would linger for a moment then, watching the sky and seeing the clouds drift by. After what were mere seconds, but seemed like hours, she averted her eyes and continued on her journey.
