Karen had had a bunch on her mind. The exams were going terribly, and her parents weren’t all too pleased with her either. Whenever it got too much for her, she would go for a walk in the surrounding plains. She lived out in a small village on the countryside, so nature was never far away. After she had trawled aimlessly and mindlessly around in the snow for a good, long while, she finally snapped back. The first thing that came to mind was how damn cold it was. Why in the world didn’t she put on some proper winter clothes? Legs shacking and teeth clattering she walked home again immediately. As she arrived back home, her mom greeted her: “What in the world were you doing out in the cold like that, Karen?” But Karen couldn’t remember. The cold had erased all her memories of what drove her out of the house.
