Suddenly, the boy awoke to a loud rumbling. He jumped up from his resting place and looked around himself. It was deep into the night, but the clear, starry sky gave enough light to make the whole field visible. From where he stood atop the hill he could survey all of his land. There, on the side facing the mountains, the earth was scorched black, and the stone wall had been blown to pieces. An ominous tension lay in the air. Something seemed wrong, wrong on a much deeper layer. Frightened, yet intrigued, the boy decided to get closer. As he approached, the air simmered before his eyes and a he smelled electricity. The grass beneath his feet had been turned to ashes, chunks and splinters of rocks lay strewn about. Edging ever closer, the boy caught a glimpse of something glowing bright blue in the grass, something ominous. But, just like that, the blue spot vanished from his sight. The boy continued to stand there, puzzled, but nothing would change. While this incident would forever stick in his mind, he would never find an explanation for it.
